Q&A with Collinsville’s Ellah Burton – Presented by McGraw Owasso

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
Ellah: Some of my goals this year is to keep energy high and take full leadership on my
team as a setter.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Ellah: Volleyball has taught me numerous things, but one of the most important has been
to move on from things as they are in the past. Play a point and move on.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Ellah: My favorite teacher has been Mr. Prickett as he has been able to understand my lack
of attendance for volleyball.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Ellah: My biggest inspiration has to be my mom, she has strived me to improve and not
settle for what I think is good enough.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Ellah: Taylor has left a huge impression on me, as she comes to practice everyday and
works her hardest although she doesn’t get to play much or at all.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Ellah: Some of my favorite things from my team have been the constant positive energy
and connection between us.
VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Ellah: My mom is by far the best athlete in my family, she has an aggressive and winning
energy. You will never catch her losing anything from a game to a plank-holding contest.
VYPE: What else are you involved in and what has been a big accomplishment for
you?
Ellah: I am a part of NHS and have held a 4.0 for my whole life.
