Owasso

Q&A with Owasso’s Jalen Montonati – Presented by Fyzical Therapy & Balance Center

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year in basketball?
Jalen: My only goal this year is to win a state championship. I believe that if we win a state
championship all the other individual accolades will come along. But I am just focused on
winning a state championship.

VYPE: What has basketball taught you that you use in your daily life?
Jalen: To give 100% effort in everything that you do everyday whether it’s in the classroom
or on the court.

VYPE: What’s your favorite style of shoe to wear in game?
Jalen: Nike is the only shoe brand I wear.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Jalen: My dad inspires me just because he played college basketball and has coached me
throughout my whole life.

VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in basketball?
Jalen: Probably just the offseason conditioning

VYPE: What do you think makes a great basketball player?
Jalen: I think a great basketball player can play on two sides of the ball, a great leader, and
a winner.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Jalen: Probably my dad just because he played basketball at OSU and played overseas.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Jalen: I’m strictly a hooper. I would never want to play another sport.

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?
Jalen: “Views” by Drake.
