Coweta Tigers Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by BancFirst

Coach: Jade Allison

21-22 Record: 9-15

The Lady Tigers of Coweta are no strangers to deep postseason runs. In the past five years, they have advanced to the state tournament in three of those years, one of which was the 2019- 2020 season that saw the tournament canceled. Last season’s exit in regionals was something that the team is not accustomed to but head coach Jade Allison says that they are looking to grow from last season and get back to long postseason play.

“I am excited to see most of this team return from last year,” Allison said. “They gained a lot of experience last year, and I am looking forward to watching them expand on that this season.”

Two players back that will help lead the team this season are Macee Matthews and Cooper Hilton. Both of these girls are outstanding players and should have an impact on how the season goes.

Kyliee Addington is a great team player. She does whatever her team needs her to do and always plays past her abilities. A solid athlete, Lexi Schauffler is always willing to put in the extra work to get better. She is a great all-around athlete and person.

A player that will be looking to play a bigger role this season is Macee Matthews. While she has not reached her full potential yet, she is working extremely hard to get there. Other players to watch for this season are Jaycee Messinger and Kaleigh Winkle.
